Summertime and peaches, they just go hand in hand, don't you think? There's an orchard in Terrell, TX called Ham's Peaches that my family and I love to go to! They have the most amazing Texas peaches and the best peach ice cream I have ever eaten. It's so darn delicious!
There are so many possibilities you have with peaches, although, I had my mind pretty well set on a certain project. With a couple bags full of fresh fruit, I was ready for some serious jam making! I had several ideas of flavors to mix and try but the ultimate winner had a little spice to it: Jalapeno Peach! Inspired by a recent trip to Toby Keith's I Love This Bar & Grill, I wanted to see if we could recreate our own version of their peach jam side. Verdict: Absolutely amazing!
Not too hot with just a the right pop of flavor for something different! We grilled up some pork loin chops in a mesquite marinade and drizzled the peach jam on top of top--hold on to your hats, because it was delicious!
And of course I wanted to share the process on the blog--this time in a little different way! Take a quick peek into my mama's kitchen and what fun we have just being silly and making good food! Even dear ol' Dad joined in to help--I think he enjoyed himself! Hope you have as much fun watching as we did making it!
No worries, the puppies didn't get to participate in the taste testing. Poor Piper pup didn't get any jam, but she sure did pray for gravity!
What's your favorite flavor jam?
