Thankful Thoughts

Life & Time, FallJulie StanleyComment

Thanksgiving, one of my absolute favorite holidays. I love how the day is filled with good food, good people, and good conversation. Plus, the colors to me are so rich and warm--so's the food!

The best part, thought, is the fact that the whole day is about gratitude, giving thanks for the wonderful gifts we've been given. Let's be honest, it's easy to get into the day to day and forget what we've got in front of us. One of my favorite quotes,

"Sometimes in my little mess I forget how big I'm blessed."

Sure, "blessed" may be slightly over used these days...that's a topic for different day though. But I truly believe there are things in our live that deserve taking a moment to say, "Yeah man, this is pretty awesome and I'm glad to have it!"

So, kicking off this gratitude challenge is my first thankful thought!

Thankful Thought #1

I'm thankful to have a weird schedule. Seriously though. Some days I don't have scheduled things until late afternoon, sometimes I have chunks of time during the evening. What might drive someone else crazy actually allows me to take care of things I need to with random pockets of time. Sometimes that allows me to run home to let Penny out and do some work quietly. Today, it's been an especially big help!

One of my favorite blogs to read is Today's Letters. They always do a gratitude post and it's good reminder to think back on all the thing things!

What's your thankful thought today?
